ACT Solar for Apartments Program
What is it all about
The Solar for Apartments Program provides owners corporations up to $100,000 in grant funds and a zero-interest loan, to install rooftop solar ateach eligible apartment complex in the ACT. Owners corporations need to apply to the Solar for Apartments program, to get funding. 50% of the funds are in the form of a grant and 50% is funded by a zero-interest loan that the owners corporation will need to pay back. This Program is co-funded up to $3.6 million under the Solar Banks Initiative of the Commonwealth Government and the ACT Government’s Sustainable Household Scheme. Owners corporations, also known as body corporates, that manage aneligible apartment complex within the ACT, can apply for the Program.
What are the eligibility requirements for the grant and loan
The premises must also:
- have an average unimproved value of a unit for the premise must be $300,000 or less in any year from 2022
- be an apartment complex style structure with a Class A unit plan as defined in the Unit Titles Act 2001
- be a completed development at the time of application for the grant and loan
- not already have rooftop solar in place.
- All residents of the premise must benefit from the solar installation.
